Where to store your luggage in St Andrews.

Arrived before check-in, or have hours to spare after checkout? Don't drag your bags around the cobbles. Here's how to store them safely — and why we can't always hold them for you during the busiest weeks.

Can our drivers hold my luggage?

We're asked this a lot — especially when accommodation check-in is hours away. The honest answer: usually not, and never during peak weeks like graduation or The Open.

On busy days our drivers have other work booked back-to-back and need the luggage space free for their next customers. Holding bags would mean blocking out a vehicle that someone else is relying on. Rather than promise something we can't reliably deliver, we'd always point you to proper, insured storage nearby.

The good news: dedicated luggage storage in St Andrews is cheap, secure, and easy to book in advance.

Where to store

Luggage storage locations

St Andrews is served by Stasher, a trusted network that lets you book secure, insured storage by the bag. There are typically two pick-up points in town.

Most popular

Stasher — Premier Inn St Andrews

About ¾ mile from the town centre
  • Bookable in advance online through Stasher
  • Staffed reception — hand your bags over and collect later the same day
  • A short walk or quick hop from most central accommodation
Central

Stasher — University location

Exact address shared after booking
  • The precise location is only revealed once you've booked and paid
  • Appears to be operated through the University — handy during term and graduation
  • Confirm opening hours for your collection time before you book
How it works

Four simple steps

1

Book online before you arrive

Reserve a slot through Stasher for the day you need. You'll pay per bag, per day, and get a confirmation with the location details.

2

Drop your bags off

Take your luggage to the confirmed location, show your booking, and the staff will store it securely while you explore.

3

Enjoy St Andrews bag-free

Walk the West Sands, visit the Cathedral, grab lunch — without dragging suitcases around the cobbles.

4

Collect when you're ready

Return before the location closes, show your booking again, and pick up your bags. Simple.

Good to know

A few local pointers

Check-in is usually mid-afternoon

Most St Andrews accommodation won't let you in until 3pm or 4pm, yet trains and our transfers often arrive in the morning. Storage bridges that gap.

Bags are insured through Stasher

Stasher bookings come with cover per bag, so your belongings are protected while they're stored — far safer than leaving them in a doorway or with a stranger.

Graduation & The Open get busy

During peak weeks, storage points fill quickly. Book the moment you know your travel times rather than turning up on the day.

Bags sorted? Let's get you moving.

Once your luggage is safely stored, we'll get you to the course, the station, the airport, or wherever your day takes you. Fixed prices, named drivers, no surprises.
